If you use AI to write your blog posts or “enhance” them, why the fuck are you even blogging? Who wants to read a perfect post with perfect spelling, grammar, sentence structures, and a fancy title if it’s not you who wrote it? What’s the point of your blog then if all you do is “prompt engineer” your writing into “perfection”?

I would like to create a digital garden of info/notes/thoughts about various topics I’m interested in that accumulate over time, and I think my blog is almost there. I just need to link posts more with each other like I do in my notes and add a backlinks section at the end of posts.
More people should feature others on their profiles. I wanna know of badass people you follow so I can check them out. Don't be stingy and share it!
Can’t believe I’m already at 300 days of journaling so far! It feels like yesterday since I dared put my thoughts down somewhere.

I don’t understand why liberals are acting all surprised that their country turned out the way it did. It was literally settled by religious fanatics too fanatic for even continental Europe to hold. The colonies were basically a dumping ground for the unwanted crazies on indigenous land. Obviously, this was gonna backfire eventually.
I stumbled upon my note taking app of choice (Bear) some time last year when they said that they had no plans of implementing any AI bullshit into their app. They’ve since reiterated their stance that they don’t fuck with that shit, and I desperately need more apps to do the same!
My CD collection is coming together nicely. I’m sitting at 30 CDs and counting. It started with my favorite albums (at the time), but I’m expanding little by little. Eventually I’d like to stop renting my music and listening to my own collection. 🎶
Imagine living a long life – in centuries – of exclusive leisure in solitude. That sounds like hell to me, like what’d be my purpose? What would I be alive for? I could die and it would mean nothing to no one, not because they’d detest me, but because they wouldn’t be conscious of my existence.
I have way too much free time at the moment and I’m spending it alone for the most part. That is the worst combination for me.
Finished migrating my Mastodon profile to this blog. I hope this is the final migration. My current setup to make up for the lack of Ivory’s amazing timeline save and sync involves Reeder as a read-only Micro.blog client. Since Micro.blog doesn’t have the robust RSS capabilities of a dedicated reader and only allows for replies as the single way to interact with others, Reeder makes up for the former and satisfies the latter.
I get the timeline saved and synced and it’s just one timeline. If I want to reply, I just swipe to open the post in Micro.blog. Best of all is that it all works seamlessly!
Seeing all of the pretty pictures people take on here makes me a little jealous. My photography skills are bad. I take pictures like an elderly person holding a smartphone for the first time. I’m going to start being a little more delicate with how I take pics from now on. I guess the best way to learn is to try!
I think I’m done with migrating from Bearblog now. One thing I didn’t count on just working without my fiddling with it is the RSS feed. People who followed the RSS feed from my previous Bearblog don’t have to change anything because Micro.blog and Bearblog place the feeds at the same location.
The way this is not even a joke, coming from someone who tried to study economics for a semester but gave up because it felt like indoctrination even more than the school system is, lmfao.

When I can't watch your show legally literally anywhere (and I'm being very generous by putting up with the streaming disaster we have now), then I'm fucking pirating it. I'm not not watching your show. I'll just do so for free lmao.

I’ve spent this past week (actually these past two weeks intermittently) helping my brother build his first PC1, which was much harder than I anticipated. I was scared we would break something or that the final build wouldn’t boot. Long story short, all of my fears actually came true and we had to replace some parts. That’s why the whole process took two weeks.

This week’s postroll is a bit modest in selection. You could say “quality over quantity” was this week’s unofficial motto.
I’ve played around with an updated links section on my blog, linked somewhere in the navigation bar. But I didn’t like maintaining it and there was always the question of how other people would keep up with it since it was simply a page that gained more content over time, meaning it had to be checked manually every now and then. That’s why I’m trying something different that I’ve seen floating around as part of weeknotes. I personally wouldn’t post week notes so I’m making dedicated postroll posts, similar to Ava’s cool links.
There is nothing like the feeling you have after an exam you’d been dreading for months finally being over. And there is also nothing like the feeling of knowing you failed so badly, it’s funny, tragic and disheartening at the same time. I only got 25% lmao. College tingz, I guess. I’ve never been exposed to an exam this hard in my entire life. It was Maths, by the way.
I feel like blogging more and I would very much like to be less negative on this blog. It’s not like I am a negative/pessimistic person to be around, but the good stuff about me usually goes into my journal so I never go back and prop it up for a blog post (ie basically censoring the parts I don’t want to broadcast). Oftentimes, I just don’t upload because of the title requirement. So the things that I understand better, that are about a specific topic like some political event, are more likely to make it onto the blog because I can craft a title for it.

“One wipe and it’s all gone.” Is it, though? From my years of watching makeup tutorials on YouTube (for entertainment only), I can confidently say that the most one wipe can do is maybe mess up the face a little. The higher quality you go, the more effort and resources are required for removing that makeup. This argument is frequently used to talk down confident femme presenting people as if the face paint was able to reconstruct their facial features. Let’s not constructively engage with this bullshit!
Search engine quality is deteriorating at an unprecedented rate. Every search engine now has AI built in. DuckDuckGo is not as intrusive as alternatives. The search results are usually okay, unless it gets specific. I have to append “Reddit” to most of queries once the search becomes slightly technical. Searches have to be rerun a couple of times with modifications even to find mildly relevant answers.
Top of the results are always the same websites depending on the topic. However, they’re not what I’m looking for. Most of them contain SEO spam or AI slop. This is only exacerbated by the omnipresence of AI everywhere.
I keep taking a look at Kagi, but the price is really steep. 10 bucks for search is crazy. What’s more, it would all be tied to my real identity. I effectively can’t use it within a private tab and there’s no proper way to set it as my default search engine either since their extension is required to use on Safari at least. I don’t want more extensions that make me stand out even more than I do.
I would’ve switched from DuckDuckGo to another search engine, but the only usable indexes are Bing, Google, and Brave. Bing’s UI is junk, Google’s search results are abhorrent among other things these days, and Brave is not much better than DuckDuckGo while having all of its downsides in addition to much more invasive AI.
That’s what keeps me peaking a little at Kagi every now and then to see if they have addressed any of my complaints. They haven’t. 🥰
