I’ve played around with an updated links section on my blog, linked somewhere in the navigation bar. But I didn’t like maintaining it and there was always the question of how other people would keep up with it since it was simply a page that gained more content over time, meaning it had to be checked manually every now and then. That’s why I’m trying something different that I’ve seen floating around as part of weeknotes. I personally wouldn’t post week notes so I’m making dedicated postroll posts, similar to Ava’s cool links.

Here are the posts I’ve stumbled upon that have resonated with me:

  • internet radios: I love people defying the powers that be in whatever way possible, even if that is simply just switching services.
  • Bookmark Confession: This simply beautiful and something that I will do from now whenever I borrow a book from the public library!
  • gym helps: I wanted to go on a tangent about how much I hated PE and how it deprived me from my childhood excitement for engaging in physical activities. But it got too emotional and I had to stop. That didn’t make me love this post any less.
  • I write in English, but I’d rather not: It’s not that I don’t like writing in English, but I can’t deny fearing that I’d be limiting my readership if I didn’t. I prefer writing in English for most topics, though. The issue with that is that I sound very nerdy, academic, and unapproachable because academia is my only source of interacting with the language, pretty much.
  • On womanhood: I also have a complex relationship with mainstream feminism and idea of womanhood, specifically the dominant neoliberal strand that speaks of female empowerment as if it’s about a woman being able to “girlboss” her way out of misogyny. I talked about this in [[Small thoughts III: on sexism, more on sexism, and a little bit more on sexism]] in more detail.
