My CD Collection

I’ve been a CD collector for a while now, but recently started growing my collection a bit more. Buying music is so expensive (costs more than a monthly streaming subscription at the very least) so I don’t buy more than two a month. Recent additions have been Happier Than Ever by Billie Eilish, EUSEXUA by FKA twigs and RENAISSANCE by Beyoncé. This is my collection so far: cd-collection I only buy these albums after months of listening to them and seeing how they age. Some exceptions were made where the album was just so good, I bought it right after release like HIT ME HARD AND SOFT by Billie Eilish, The Land Is Inhospitable And So Are We by Mitski, and EUSEXUA by FKA twigs.

My reason for buying the physical releases is simple: I want to have the highest quality possible because I plan to have a whole stereo setup in my apartment once I move out and am financially stable. I want to have a backup in case the music gets pulled off streaming (which can happen and does happen more often than you think). And if I’m already buying them, why not buy the physical and get some nice artwork as a bonus?

I don’t like buying digitally. I go CD/vinyl hunting with my best friend and it’s so fun not knowing what we will find by going into a store. I have a long list of albums I want to buy and now that I have the core ones, I can venture out with buying more fringe and maybe also older ones.
